BRAC USA does not meet this Standard because:

  • The board of directors does not have a written policy stating that, at least every two years, an appraisal be done assessing the organization’s performance and effectiveness and determining future actions required to achieve its mission.
BRAC USA meets the remaining 19 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Programs

              

BRAC USA raises funds for its umbrella entity (BRAC) and various country programs. BRAC USA seeks to develop relationships, publicize BRAC’s work and tell the BRAC story in order to unlock resources for BRAC and help promote its comprehensive and sustainable model of community development. The organization is also involved in grant making. It also supports an agenda based on priorities agreed upon by BRAC and the BRAC USA's Board. Through its grant making program, BRAC USA aims to facilitate flexibility, innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity, and learning. Furthermore, the organization is involved in public education. Part of the organization’s public education program entails telling its story through speaking engagements, its website, media, and by word of mouth.
