Programs

              

Komen funds outreach programs and initiatives that address the community's breast health needs. These initiatives include breast cancer screening programs, health fairs, wellness clinics, educational outreach and treatment projects, and events such as the Race for the CureĀ®. The Komen award and research grant program supports breast cancer research and grants meritorious awards. In addition, Komen funds a national breast cancer information hotline (1-800-I'M AWARE). Komen, through its Affiliate network, funds breast cancer screening and treatment programs for the medically underserved and uninsured, including low or no cost mammography. Komen also provides to the public names and locations of accredited mammographies facilities. Some ($49,906,359 or 17%) of Komen's program activities are carried out in conjunction with fund raising appeals.
