Programs

              

Through its programs and services, AACR fosters the exchange of knowledge and new ideas amongst scientists involved in cancer research as well as provide training opportunities for new cancer researchers. The organization also works to increase public understanding of cancer through the publication of seven peer reviewed journals, the publication of a magazine for cancer survivors, patient advocates, and their families. AACR reports that it holds scientific conferences and meetings that draw about 25,000 participants from the cancer community and that it offers educational workshops, fellowships and research grants to investigators. Furthermore, the organization advocates for federal research funding.
