Programs

              

JGI works to create healthy ecosystems, promote sustainable livelihoods and nurture new generations of committed, active citizens around the world. In Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Uganda, Guinea and Sierra Leone, JGI’s Africa Programs team works to conserve chimpanzees through research, public education and awareness, and community-based landscape-scale conservation planning. By engaging local communities, JGI works towards conservation objectives and increase the livelihood opportunities available to local rural communities. The organization reports that its Roots and Shoots program is active in 96 countries, providing a global network in which young people are educated and inspired to make a positive difference for people, animals, and the environment.
