Programs

              

AC seeks to acquire, preserve, and manage endangered archaeological sites within the United States. According to AC, it has preserved 32 sites in the last year. AC transfers some of its permanent archaeological preserves to governmental organizations and promotes scientific research. In addition, AC reports providing educational services to about 23,000 members regarding the threats to our cultural heritage and how to preserve what remains. AC also publishes a quarterly magazine, "American Archaeology," which covers archaeology in the United States, Canada, and Mesoamerica, and reports on preservation efforts nationwide.
