Programs

The American Indian College Fund (the Fund) awards approximately 6,000 scholarships annually to American Indian students attending tribal colleges and mainstream institutions. The Fund also reports providing financial support to over 33 accredited member tribal colleges and universities (TCUs) of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium for cultural preservation and other program support and capital improvement projects, including expanding laboratory, classroom, and residence facilities. The Fund’s TCUs also serve non-traditional students such as those with dependent family members, first-generation college students, and others who previously had little access to post-secondary education in their communities. Furthermore, the organization produces and administers public service announcement campaigns to debunk stereotypes about American Indians while promoting awareness about the roles tribal colleges are playing in developing the talents of Native students and the economies of Native communities. The Fund also produces research and other publications promoting Indian issues and the importance of tribal colleges.
