Programs

              

SLCM seeks to fulfill its mission by providing a Dare to Care Kids Cafe, emergency financial assistance, Dare to Care food closet, home delivered meals, and an adult day center. The Kids Cafe is located in the Americana Community Center and serves a nutritious, hot meal four evenings a week to the children participating in the after school program. SLCM averages 90 children each day. The emergency financial assistance program helps low-income persons pay their utilities, rent, mortgage, or medications. Each month over 1,000 persons are assisted. The home delivered meals program assists home-bound older persons meet their nutritional needs. Each week approximately 65 older persons receive hot lunches delivered by caring volunteers. The adult day center provides structure and supervision for 25 frail older persons. Many of the participants have early stage Alzheimers.
