The Alzheimer's Association operates an array of programs and services including --a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week toll-free helpline --family support groups --a safe return program for memory impaired persons --educational programs --a speakers bureau --a dementia-specific adult day program --a lending library and resource center --a newsletter and other free publications, and --an informative website with an events calendar and links to a variety of information about Alzheimer's disease and local and national organizations. The organization also advocates for public policy reforms through activities related to local, state, and national legislation to better serve the needs of affected persons, families, and caregivers.
