Programs

              

The American Red Cross- Greater Houston Area Chapter operates and maintains the following programs: Disaster Services, Services to military families and veterans, Health and safety services, and Transportation services. Disaster Services: Assists the community by providing temporary shelter and other necessities before, during, and after a disaster. During the 2011 fiscal year, they provided disaster services community disaster education and general disaster preparedness activities to 74,944 people. Services to military families and veterans: Provides financial and other assistance to families of members in the military. Through emergency communication/casework, military briefings, and international tracing services, they served 15,469 during the 2011 fiscal year. Health and safety services: Provides safety education to the community and workplace. This includes emergency responses, first aid and CPR, AED operation, and water safety. During the 2011 fiscal year, they served 94109 through CPR/First Aid/AED courses, Aquatics/Water Safety courses, Babysitters training, and HIV education.
