Programs

              

SIRE, Houston's Therapeutic Equestrian Center, has provided therapeutic services to children and adults with a wide variety of disabilities since 1983. Counties served include Austin, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Montgomery, Waller, and Washington. Most of our clients participate in therapeutic horseback riding, including our competition program and SIRE's Horses for Armed Forces. SIRE provided 5,447 therapeutic riding sessions to 220 clients in 2012, 201 per week. In addition, SIRE offers a full series of education and training opportunities such as continuing education and apprenticeships for aspiring therapeutic riding professionals and others. For 2014, SIRE plans to offer additional specialties including hippotherapy.
