Programs

              

Since 1946 the Houston Golf Association (HGA) has brought professional and amateur golf events to the Greater Houston Area. The HGA ensures that funds generated by the Shell Houston Open are put to work locally so that the proceeds of its PGA TOUR event directly impacts the local community. In 2009, contributions of $864,999 were donated to 6 local charities. Houston Golf Association also provided The First Tee National School Program in 120-plus elementary schools in 8 School Districts with nearly 61,000 school children participating. In 2009, the Junior Golf Scholarships and Golf Events program served more than 1000 youngsters, conducting 68 tournaments on 42 facilities.
