Programs

              

MCUW trains volunteers to conduct a yearly review of each funded programs; Outcomes to ensure that the programs benefit those who are served. MCUW assessed the needs of the community, secured funding, and is locally implementing the nationwide Success By 6 initiative to help children be ready to succeed by the time they enter school. MCUW, Conroe Independent School District’s Newcomers’ Center, and local agencies; Hispanic outreach staff have partnered to coordinate services for the Spanish-speaking community. MCUW formed the Montgomery County Disaster Recovery Task Force to coordinate local agencies, government entities, faith communities, and businesses to respond to and initiate recovery from flooding and other natural disasters. Committed to continuing the vision of the 1999 Reduce Violence in Our Schools Task Force, MCUW continues to produce the Youth Yellow Pages for teens and their families. Committed to the continuation of the Leadership Montgomery County 2002 class project, MCUW has continued to distribute the Living Senior resource directory for seniors and their families. MCUW publishes a Support Group Directory to help community members access needed assistance. To assist Montgomery County helping professionals to locate local resources for clients, MCUW publishes a Community Resource Directory. MCUW had over 60 programs served over 176,00 individuals in 2009.
