Programs

              

Houston COMPASS, Inc. assists the disadvantaged and unemployed in gaining direction and control over their lives through employment or other appropriate means. In 2010, COMPASS counselors conducted approximately 6,151 client visits with individuals seeking assistance. COMPASS assists these clients through one-on-one visits with counselors. During these visits, the clients' needs are assessed and the appropriate assistance and referrals are given. The direct assistance includes transportation, ID, hygiene supplies, the cost of disabled bus passes, and haircuts. Referrals were given in the areas of employment/job search, voicemail, medical care, mental healthcare, drug and alcohol treatment, shelter, clothes and food.
