Programs

              

The Epilepsy Foundation Texas provides the following services: SPECIALIZED MEDICAL CARE is provided at no charge to patients for adults with epilepsy that lack insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. Care is provided through eight clinic locations throughout the state. Services include; diagnostic testing, regular clinic visits, monitoring of drug levels and access to prescription medications at no cost. Each year over 1200 people are served through our clinics. CAMP & RECREATION EXPERIENCES: Three week long summer camps are available for children ages 8-19 years old who have a primary diagnosis of epilepsy. These camps are staffed by doctors, nurses and trained camp counselors. Camp provides an opportunity to grow and learn how to live day to day with epilepsy. We also offer opportunities for adults and families to come together and socialize through a variety of activities including; bowling nights, weekend getaways, picnics, and sporting events. Each year over 400 people participate in our camp and recreational events. EDUCATION: Each year volunteers and staff from the Epilepsy Foundation Texas go out to the community to provide education about epilepsy and seizure first aid. Education programs are available for a variety of audiences and ages, such as schools, civil organizations, churches, law enforcement agencies, employers and businesses serving the public. Each year over 10,000 people participate in training sessions provided by the Epilepsy Foundation Texas. INFORMATION & REFERRAL: The Epilepsy Foundation Texas strives to be the knowledge leader in referring people with epilepsy, family members and caregivers to the best resources available throughout the community. Each month hundreds of calls are answered. Trained staff stand ready to answer questions about epilepsy, connect people to services and resources within the foundation and the local community. Each year the Epilepsy Foundation Texas fields over 20,000 calls for information.
