Programs

              

Established in 1974, Armand Bayou Nature Center (ABNC) remains one of the largest urban wilderness preserves in the nation, protecting over 2500 acres of rare coastal prairie, flatwood forest and estuarine bayou habitat for the State of Texas and Harris County. Their programs include: Stewardship, Education, and Visitor & Member Services. They currently actively preserve 900 acres of tall-grass prairie. They also manage 300 acres of Texas Coastal Preserve in the Armand Bayou watershed. ABNC educational programs served over 8,500 students of all ages throughout the year. Over 15,000 people visit ABNC annually.
