Programs

              

Chinquapin Preparatory School provides a college-preparatory education (grades 6-12) to able and motivated youth from low-income families in the Greater Houston area. Students are challenged academically, and every senior is accepted by at least one accredited 4-year college or university as a requirement of graduation. In addition to academic subjects, they offer art, video production, drama and computer skills as various grade levels. They also compete in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track, and each student is given opportunities to develop a sense of responsibility and leadership skills through the Student Leadership Committee, Chore-time crews, and athletics. They offer a range of programs and activities to further promote personal, social, and cultural development such as: "Close Trip" to Washington D.C., summer programs and travel, civic projects, cultural enrichment, and Life Skills- communication, job interviewing, ethics, and manners. Currently, 162 students are enrolled at the Chinquapin School.
