Since 1892, DePelchin Children's Center has supported parents and families in providing for the emotional, mental, and physical needs of their children. Originally created to shelter orphaned children, DePelchin also provides children's social and mental health services in the greater Houston area. Annually, they served more than 20,000 clients. In 2013, DePelchin reached 6,467 unique clients with mental health care in clinical offices, schools and community centers; taught 21,607 youths hows to manage life challenges and stay clear of risky behaviors and helped 683 children and families with post-adoption services across Southest Texas.
