Revels Houston, Inc. does not meet the following Standard for Charity Accountability.

Standard 12: Detailed Functional Breakdown of Expenses - Include in the financial statements a breakdown of expenses (e.g., salaries, travel, postage, etc.) that shows what portion of these expenses was allocated to program, fund raising, and administrative activities. If the charity has more than one major program category, the schedule should provide a breakdown for each category.

Revels Houston, Inc. does not meet this Standard because its 2009 IRS form 990 does not include a functional breakdown of expenses.

In addition, the Houston BBB requested but did not receive complete information on the organization’s finances and is unable to verify the organization's compliance with the following 5Standards for Charity Accountability: 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13.

Programs

              

Revels Houston presented performances in addition to the December show. This included community performances at hospitals, museums, theaters, on television and on radio, at well known local festivals including the Bayou Arts Festival and the International Festival; at church, residential homes and other local groups where special needs were our focus; at food drives, interactive pub sings, and at the January Wake. The Revels Christmas production is a celebration including traditional music, poetry, and dance with a different cultural theme each year using approximately 250 volunteers and reaching approximately 3,000 patrons.
