Programs

              

Civic Art + Design: The Civic Art Program facilitates creation of the next great American public art collection for the city. They create platforms for artists from Houston and around the world; producing dynamic contemporary programming; and advancing 21st century placemaking in Houston. Programs & Services: Programs and Services help build and foster the Houston community by providing resources to arts organizations and artists; by expanding audiences; and by linking the arts to business. Grants: They support small, medium and large nonprofit organizations as well as individual artists through funding and technical assistance. In 2010, they awarded over 220 grants totaling over$9,090,637. Communications: The Communications Department promotes awareness of HAA programs and initiatives both locally and nationally. In addition, it acts as a communications liaison among our many partners in the arts, business, government, tourism and academia. Folklife and Traditional Arts: The Folklife & Traditional Arts Program showcases the cultural traditions of the nation’s fourth largest city and its surroundings. Through research, documentation, public programming and technical assistance the program highlights the area’s diverse cultural communities.
