Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati does not meet the following 4 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Standard 8: Program Service Expense Ratio - Spend at least 65% of its total expenses on program activities.

According to the charity's audited financial statements for the fiscal year-ended June 30, 2010, the organization spent $162,178, or 59%, of its total expenses ($276,661) on program service activities.

Standard 10: Ending Net Assets - Avoid accumulating funds that could be used for current program activities. To meet this standard, the charity's unrestricted net assets available for use should not be more than three times the size of the past year's expenses or three times the size of the current year's budget, whichever is higher.

According to the charity's audited financial statements for the fiscal year-ended June 30, 2010, the organization's total unrestricted net assets were $1,056,609, or 4 times, the charity's total budgeted expenses of $276,661.

Standard 12: Detailed Functional Breakdown of Expenses - Include in the financial statements a breakdown of expenses (e.g., salaries, travel, postage, etc.) that shows what portion of these expenses was allocated to program, fund raising, and administrative activities. If the charity has more than one major program category, the schedule should provide a breakdown for each category.

The charity's audited financial statements for the year-ended June 30, 2010, did not include a detailed functional breakdown of expenses that allocates expenses to the major categories of programs, fundraising, and administration.

Programs

              

The Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati provides funding to Stepping Stones Center for the operation and improvement of Camp Allyn, provides grants to local non-profits that provide services to children, supports the Rotary Youth Exchange & Group Study Exchange, provides a holiday party for children with disabilities at Condon School, and tutors at St. Francis DeSales School. Other community activities include fire, police, and sheriff officer recognition and the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service. The Rotary Foundation also has an international effort to fund a medical clinic for orphans in Kenya. The charity also supports the civic and humanitarian needs of local and world communities where rotary club members are actively involved.
