Standard 8: Program Service Expense Ratio - Spend at least 65% of its total expenses on program activities. According to the charity's IRS Form 990 for the fiscal year-ended December 31, 2010, Ihsan Worldwide spent $29,757, or 17% of its total expenses ($177,037), on program service activities. Standard 13: Accuracy of Expenses in Financial Statements - Accurately report the charity's expenses, including any joint cost allocations, in its financial statements. For example, audited or unaudited statements which inaccurately claim zero fund raising expenses or otherwise understate the amount a charity spends on fund raising, and/or overstate the amount it spends on programs will not meet this standard. Ihsan Worldwide's programs include cultural, religious, and secular programming designed to meet the needs of individuals in the immediate community and in the Greater Cincinnati area. "Quran" is a non-proselytizing program designed to address the basic needs of individuals in the community. This program provides financial resources for basic needs such as heating bills and groceries and outreach to children in schools who may need assistance with school supplies, nutrition, or other basic needs. Ihsan Worldwide also has scouting programs for both boys and girls that teach children good citizenship and values, conversational Arabic, and how to read Arabic. The charity has community social events to bring diverse populations together and service projects that assist people who are economically disadvantaged. According to the charity, Ihsan Worldwide served approximately 300 individuals in 2011.
