Programs

              

YMCA of Greater Cincinnati (the Y) carries out its mission through programs and activities that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Through the Y’s “All Kids Deserve A’s” initiative, the charity aligns its programs and collaborations so that the Y can address the needs of its communities in five specific areas: Asset-Rich Environments, Engaged Adults, Access to All, Partnerships with Parents, and Healthy Living. According to the charity, in 2010, more than 126,000 people, over one-third of them children, came to one of the 16 branches. The Y engages people of all ages and walks of life and is dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected, and secure children, adults, families, and communities with programs such as before and after school child care, preschool, adult and youth fitness and nutrition, summer, day, and residential camps, sports, senior health and wellness, arts and culture, teen achievement and college readiness programs, and swim safety. The Y is open to everyone regardless of their age, race, religion, gender, physical/mental capability, or economic background.
