Programs

              

According to the charity, Transitions exists to provide residential treatment and related services to those who experience substance abuse and associated difficulties and to help individuals and families move toward a better understanding of themselves, their problems, and their opportunities, and thus make the transition to improved physical, mental, and spiritual health. ABSTINENCE PROGRAMS: Clients are exposed to abstinence-based self-help groups. TREATMENT PROGRAMS: Both individual and group counseling services are offered in all programs. Programs cover a number of topics including basic life skills, spirituality, and employment readiness. The main focus is facilitating individual responsibility, self-sufficiency, and rejoining the community. EMPLOYMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICES: All clients eligible to work are required to do so and must give back to others by performing community service. NON-MEDICAL DETOXIFICATION: Transitions offers seven to 10 day programs where men and women safely undergo withdraw from alcohol and other drugs. The program admits Kentucky residents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT: The charity offers a 90-day program for men in Dayton, Kentucky, and women in Covington, Kentucky, that allows their children under age 12 to accompany them. Pregnant women and new mothers can stay up to nine months. Transitions, Inc. operates halfway houses which provide rehabilitation and substance abuse treatment in long-term programs. Upon completing the residential programs, clients may participate in outpatient aftercare counseling for up to one year. MEN'S RESIDENTIAL RECOVERY PROGRAM: Clients participate in residential recovery services for six to 12 months or longer. INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT SERVICES: Substance abuse treatment lasts six to eight months where clients receive several hours of treatment a week while remaining employed in the community. CHILDCARE: The charity's licensed childcare center accepts a limited number of children from the community.
