The Children Development Program offers childcare for children ages from birth to age 20 with and without special needs. The program offers on-site nursing care, access to therapy services, “parents as partners” philosophy, developmental stimulation, and an educational curriculum that fosters the development of skills that are essential for future school and life success. Services of the program include Therapeutic Childcare, Before/After School Services, and Summer Day Camp. The Integrated Therapy Program has occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech therapists that work with children in direct therapy and consultation. Occupational therapists work on developing skills for children related to normal “occupations” of living, such as eating, dressing, and participation in educational, work, and leisure activities. Physical therapists focus on enhancing skills related to movement and daily functional activities. Speech and language therapy aids both children and adults in developing functional communication skills, which may include augmentative communication, sign language, and the understanding of speech. The Adult Independence Program helps adults with multiple disabilities and medical fragility achieve skills that allow meaningful participation in normal activities of daily living. The program provides personal care, nursing support, and dietary services. The Computer Life Skills (CLS) Program offers computer access to adults with multiple disabilities. The CLS program teaches basic computer knowledge and encourages usage for leisure activities such as email and Internet searches. Technology Solutions Program uses assistive technology to help people to actively and successfully communicate while accessing the computer. Assistive technology exists in forms from simple, no-tech such as a pencil grip, to complex, high-tech devices. Workforce Success Program offers a comprehensive mix of vocational training and employment services to help adults with disabilities prosper in the workplace. The Work Activity Center works hand in hand with community businesses to provide subcontract jobs while teaching and developing workplace skills. The Center is designed to teach marketable job skills any employer would expect, including clocking in/out and time management, following basic to multi-step instructions, taking responsibility, good decision making skills, appropriate workplace social skills, and effective communication skills. Employment Services Program develops a partnership between Redwood and community businesses. The goal of the program is to help adults with disabilities become more productive members of the community, while helping businesses find dependable, well-trained employees.
