Programs

              

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, Inc. provides skill training and job placement services for individuals with disabilities and the nation’s veterans. Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries' vision is to provide comprehensive vocational training and support services to adults with disabilities and other barriers to employment. It is in support of this vision that Goodwill works in partnership with the larger community. According to the charity, Ohio Valley Goodwill serves more than 2,600 people annually. The Work Evaluation Program assists individuals with identifying occupational goals and the action steps or services that might be needed to reach those goals. The Work Adjustment Training Program aids individuals in creating their own vocational development strategies. Ohio Valley Goodwill also offers employment services, which, in addition to assisting individuals in procuring employment, provides job development, vocational exploration, market surveys, job seeking skills, and retention services. The Community Support Services Program provides on-site job training, off-site support services, training in appropriate work behavior, self-advocacy support, travel-training, personal adjustment, and long-term follow-along services. Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Center for Advocacy, Recreation, and Education (CARE) provides adults with disabilities with opportunities that promote individual choice, community inclusion, physical and emotional well-being, self-advocacy, and interpersonal relationships. The Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) offers homeless veterans assistance in finding emergency, transitional, and permanent housing. HVRP also works with veterans to obtain occupational training and competitive employment. Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries has partnered with Dell Reconnect in an initiative to promote the responsible recycling of computers which will help thousands of donors to dispose of their outdated computers in an efficient and environmentally friendly way. According to the charity, Ohio Valley Goodwill has received over 43 national, regional, and local awards recognizing the quality of its programs and services.
