Hamilton County Special Olympics (HCSO) does not meet the following Standard for Charity Accountability.

Standard 17: Web Site Disclosures - Include on any charity websites that solicit contributions, the same information that is recommended for annual reports, as well as the mailing address of the charity and electronic access to its most recent IRS Form 990.

The charity has a website that requests contributions, but the website does not include financial information for the past fiscal year, which includes total income, expenses by programs, fundraising, and administration, and total ending net assets.

Programs

              

Hamilton County Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition for 16 traditional sports and 10 unified sports for mentally/developmentally handicapped individuals ages 8 and over. Children 5-7 years old are elibible to participate in the training program only, while children 2-5 years old may participate in the Young Athletes Program. Special Olympics athletes receive a minimum of 8 weeks training from over 100 volunteer coaches prior to competition. Training involves programs which have been tested and developed by the Special Olympics and are outlined in a Sports Skills Guide for each sport. The traditional sports are: aquatics, athletics, basketball, bocce ball, bowling, golf, gymnastics, motor activities program, power lifting, roller skating, skiing, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball and equestrian. Unified Sports pairs a mentally/developmentally handicapped individual with a non-handicapped partner. The unified sports offered include: aquatics, athletics, basketball, bowling, golf, skiing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. HCSO offers its Motor Activities Training Program for athletes with severe handicaps. This program offers comprehensive motor skill training to individuals with particularly severe limitations.
