Programs

According to the charity, Easter Seals WRC provides job training and social adjustment skills to more than 12,000 individuals in the Greater Cincinnati area. Participants include individuals with disabilities who need support to find and keep a job, people who are chronically unemployed or underemployed, and at-risk youth who are transitioning from school to the workforce. The charity provides an integral step for developing the needed job and life skills through each service. Three strategies have been identified for this process. The first is the charity identifies and creates an individualized path to success. Skills assessment, career readiness workshops, and school-to-work transition are the programs used to implement this strategy. The second is the charity develops job qualifications and work related life skills. For this strategy Easter Seals WRC has developed the following programs: summer youth employment, technology based learning, job training in construction and retail, and hands on learning program for high school students with disabilities. The final strategy is for individuals to obtain and maintain employment. This can be done by an individual (between the ages of 14 to 21) using the free job resource center, job placement, job coaching, follow along, and welfare to work in order to obtain and retain employment.
