Programs

              

Building Stronger Marriages and Relationships Program works to strengthen marriages and prepare individuals for healthy relationships. The program provides education and enrichment activities, including activities that explore positive relationships models and teach basic skills for healthy relationships. The program is currently open to residents in Bond Hill/Roselawn, Forest Park, and Central Clermont County.

Mediation Program is a process that brings individuals together to improve communication and resolve conflicts between families, children and parents, divorcing parents, couples, and step-families. This face-to-face service tries to improve coping skills, negotiation, and increases self-awareness by providing an environment where everyone is heard, mediators hope to get to the root causes of disagreements before they become unsolvable.

Community Support Services have case management specialists that coordinate services to help at-risk children and their families navigate school and community systems to access support resources. In addition, the program monitors mental health symptoms and behavior management techniques are utilized so that the following skills are developed: socialization, anger management, coping, and independent living.  To qualify for services children must have symptoms that significantly interfere with social, family, vocational, education and/or psychological/psychiatric functioning and the family must need assistance in accessing care for the child.

Face-to-Face Consultation Services helps parents and caregivers determine the best approaches for dealing with family issues such as divorce, discipline, step-parenting, and child development. Parents and caregivers learn to identify strengths and successes, examine barriers, and clarify goals and practical solutions.

Family Peer Support Program is offered to help parents whose children have mental health needs. The program pairs parents who have children struggling with academic, social or mental health issues with parents who have been through similar issues with their children. These Family Peer Support workers can offer support and advice, guide parents as they maneuver through the system, and help families get connected to the resources they need. 

In addition, the charity provides Power in Parenting Program, which matches parents with parent mentors from their community to teach developmental activities, help navigate medical needs and other services, and ensure kindergarten readiness for their children.

Parent Child Interaction Therapy Program (PCIT) is an evidenced-based counseling practice for children ages 3 to 12 that focuses on improving the caregiver-child relationship and increasing positive child behaviors. PCIT is a 14-session counseling intervention program, which teaches caregivers specific behavior management techniques that they can use as they play with their children.

Counseling Services are offered to children ages 2 to 17 to help with a variety of issues, ranging from random temper tantrums to severe depression. Children are evaluated by a professional who determines the services to best meet the child's needs and matches the child with the appriopriate counselor.  Therapists meets with children and parents to together with sessions occurring weekly or as determined by the parent and therapist.

Education and Support Groups are guided by professionals who provide education on variety of topics that are customized based on the interests and needs of the participants and gives them the opportunity to share experiences in a setting which provides interaction and learning. Topics include childhood, parenting, and family issues that may include discipline, step-parenting, child development, single-parenting, and helping children cope with divorce. 

Every Child Succeeds Program is a voluntary home-visitation program for first-time, at-risk mothers. It is a regional program designed to ensure an optimal start for children and it is a collaborative effort with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency, and United Way of Greater of Cincinnati. The program offers parenting advice, child development information, assistance in strengthening parenting skills, and the tracking of immunizations and development events.

Family Foster Care and Treatment Foster Care Program provides guidance and support for children and families through training, regular home visits, and an emergency crisis system for both foster parents and children. Foster parents meet monthly in small groups to support each other and discuss successes and challenges. The program works with each child and foster family to ensure the best match between skills and characteristics of foster parents with the needs and circumstances of the child to ensure that the children get exactly the home and the support they need.
