Programs

The Operation School Bell program works with school officials and personnel in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky in order for Assistance League members to purchase new school uniforms, socks, underwear, shoes, jackets, and hygiene supplies in personalized duffel bags. The students are identified by school personnel as children in need. The Learning Together program has members provide academic tutoring to elementary students at Mt. Washington School and Winton Hills Academy. In addition, the members may serve as field trip chaperones and provide financial support to classrooms, libraries, and school programs. According to the charity, 450 students benefit annually from this program. The College Starter Kits provide basic school supplies to disadvantaged adult students enrolled at Chatfield College, Raymond Walters-UC, and Thomas Moore College. According to the charity, this program has distributed 400 kits to the financial aid officers for distribution to students who have few financial resources. The Trauma Care program provides necessities to women, children, and families in crisis in order to ease their immediate needs. This is accomplished through the distribution of Trauma Kits (Assault Survivor Kits and Domestic Violence Kits) throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. The Assault Survivor Kits are distributed to area hospital emergency rooms for victims or rape and assault. The Kits include hygiene products, clothing (sweat pants and a shirt), a journal, and a pen. The Domestic Violence Kits are distributed to area shelters for women escaping home/domestic violence.
