Programs

              

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provide relief to victims of disasters, and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. American Red Cross, Cincinnati Area Chapter provides 24/7 emergency services to 25 counties throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana through its network of chapters, service delivery units, and national headquarters operations. According to the charity, nearly 200,000 people are served each year by the American Red Cross, Cincinnati Area Chapter. The charity provides disaster relief by offering shelter, food, and health services to individuals and families affected by the disaster, feeding emergency workers, handling inquiries from family members outside the disaster area, and providing blood and blood products to disaster victims. The charity offers services to military personnel and their families such as helping families notify service members of emergency situations, providing emergency financial assistance for service members, and providing mental health counseling and financial support to military families. Additionally, the charity offers programs designed specifically for senior citizen groups on topics such as family caregiving, fall prevention, and memory enhancement. The charity provides opportunities for youth of all ages to become involved with the Red Cross, including educational classes, a youth leadership program, and community service initiatives.
