CincySmiles Foundation, Inc. does not meet the following 2 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Standard 16: Annual Report - Have an annual report available to all, on request, that includes: (a) the organization's mission statement, (b) a summary of the past year's program service accomplishments, (c) a roster of the officers and members of the board of directors, (d) financial information that includes (i) total income in the past fiscal year, (ii) expenses in the same program, fund raising and administrative categories as in the financial statements, and (iii) ending net assets.

The charity's 2010 annual report does not include a roster of the board of directors and financial information for the past fiscal year, which includes total income, expenses by programs, fundraising, and administration, and total ending net assets.

 

Standard 17: Web Site Disclosures - Include on any charity websites that solicit contributions, the same information that is recommended for annual reports, as well as the mailing address of the charity and electronic access to its most recent IRS Form 990.

The charity has a website that requests contributions, but the website does not include total income and total ending net assets for the past fiscal year.

Programs

              

OPTIONS and Donated Dental Services (DDS) are programs in which the charity partners with participating practitioners to provide care to Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky’s working poor and their families, seniors, and those who are medically, mentally or physically challenged. According to the charity, the OPTIONS Program serves Greater Cincinnati and 27 surrounding Ohio counties and there is now 275 participating dentists in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. CincySmiles Foundation operates a five chair dental clinics in Over the Rhine to serve basic dental needs of the area homeless. Patients are referred through several programs and shelters and receive the dental treatment necessary to be pain-free, to restore nutrition functions, and an appearance that supports moving them to self-sufficiency. The Dental Van Program is a fully-equipped two chair “dental clinic on wheels” that provides rotating services to grades kindergarten through eighth grade in Cincinnati Public Schools. During the summer, the dental van provides dental screening and treatment to students in Head Start programs in the area. The Dental Sealant Program is a school-based program, which serves Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Adams, Brown and Clermont Counties, provides dental screenings and sealant application to the teeth of low-income children to prevent dental decay and disease. The dental sealants are applied to elementary aged school children in their schools. The program is provided at no cost to all eligible children who have parental consent. Referrals are also made for those with follow-up dental treatment needs. The Middletown Clinic is operates a three chair dental clinic in conjunction with the Butler County Community Health Consortium in Middletown.
