Programs

              

According to the charity, Hyde Park Multi-Service Center for Older Adults was founded by a committee of churches and neighborhood activists who saw a need for a center to support the independence of older adults. Today, the Hyde Park Center provides a variety of services to older adults in seven eastside neighborhoods. Services include, transportation, which enables older adults to show for groceries and get to medical appointments. The charity will also transport their clients to lunch and additional programs that are offered at the center. A licensed professional counselor provides assistance to older adults living on their own. Some of the assistance that is provided includes locating housing and services and paperwork, such as paying bills and applications for public benefits. The Hyde Park Center provides wellness activities to help ensure optimal health and the ability to prevent or manage chronic health conditions. According to the charity, in 2009, the Hyde Park Center provided 5,300 trips, 4,752 meals, 1,425 hours of social work, and 1,423 wellness activities with an attendance of 8,071.
