Programs

              

Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio (COA) serves and advocates for programs and services for older adults in Southwestern Ohio. COA is responsible for planning, coordinating, and administrating local, state, and federally funded programs and services for older adults in the five- county area it serves (Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton and Warren). These programs help to increase the quality of life of older adults and allow them to remain as independent as possible in their own homes. These community-based long-term care programs include the Elderly Services Program, the PASSPORT Program, the Residential State Supplement Program, the Assisted Living Waiver Program, Pre-admission Review, and Long-term Care Consultation. Through the Council on Aging Learning Advantages Program (COALA), COA provides formal training for home health aides, education and support for family caregivers, and expertise to businesses and their employees who need help balancing work and care giving. According to the charity, in 2009, over 22,000 older adults received in-home services from COA.
