Programs

To receive services from the charity, an individual must meet the following eligibility requirements: age 60 or older, resident of Clermont County, and must not be receiving duplicated services from another agency.

The Life Learning Centers provide a variety of classes and opportunities for active adults in Clermont County. Activities include: arts and crafts, recreation, exercise, entertainment, education programs, day trips, computer classes, and shopping trips. In addition, the charity provides Adult Day Service, which is supervised care for frail, older adults. This program services individuals with dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease, and those with physical impairments, such as those who have had a stroke.

The Meals-on-Wheels Program provides noontime meals to individuals who are unable to prepare food as a result from one or more medical conditions. Weekend meals may be available based on need and eligibility. Spouses of eligible seniors can receive meals as well.

The Transportation Program provides roundtrip door-to-door transportation to individuals. Transportation is available to medical appointments in Clermont and Hamilton Counties, Clermont Senor Services’ lifelong learning centers, and on limited basis non-medical appointments near the individual’s home.

The Homemaking Program has homemakers perform only tasks that older adults are unable to complete themselves due to one or more medical conditions. Tasks include light housekeeping, laundry service, grocery shopping and other errands. This service will only be provide to the individual if there is not an able-bodied adult living in the home and if the senior and spouse are not employed. In addition, certified home health aides provide personal care that includes assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, and other daily living needs.

The Respite Care Program (Caregiver Relief) provides respite care to give 24-hour, unpaid caregivers a break from care giving responsibilities for seniors who are unable to be left alone. Typically service is provided four hours a day one day a week. Additional edibility requirements include that the senior does not attend the Adult Day Program and the caregiver does not use the respite time to enable employment.

The Care Management Program provides seniors receiving home care and meals a case manager assigned to provide a personal plan of care, including an assessment of needs, a home safety assessment, and if necessary, referral for other services such as home energy assistance, housing, etc. For seniors that do not receive home care or meals, a social worker is available to help with applying for benefit programs if no other support is available. In addition, in conjunction with the Clermont Counseling Center, Clermont Senior Services provides mental health services to at-risk seniors. The charity also provides Adult Protective Service, which helps meet the needs of vulnerable, frail older adults who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Service is provided in conjunction with the Department of Jobs and Family Services.
