Programs

The Employment Education Program helps individuals to discover their strengths, skills, and abilities and how to best express them to potential employers. The week-long course, offered the second week of each month, instructs individuals on the proper way to complete a job application, write resumes and cover letters, and lets them practice successful interview techniques. This is an interactive class where the members have an opportunity to work with each other to practice the skills taught during the course. Following the basic one week course, job coaches then help individuals plan a job search and help them focus on the jobs that meet their needs. Every Thursday evening, the charity offers follow-up sessions that build on the basic class and offer not only job training, but life skills education as well. It is the goal of the program to see members develop a career, not just get a job. To this end, the Life Learning Center team works with and provides support for Members for a minimum of one year after completion of the training. Enrollment in the Employment Education Program is free, but the charity does require that individuals be drug free, have stable housing, and be committed to finding long term employment.

For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2009, The Life Learning Center's program expenses were:

Program Services 254,947
