Parent and Early Childhood Education Programs work with families and family child care providers directly increasing knowledge of child development, giving parents and child care providers strategies to increase children's cognitive, behavioral, and language skills in order to prepare the children for kindergarten. The programs use intensive, home-based support, screenings, advocacy and education for children, from birth through kindergarten, and their caregivers, using the Parents As Teachers Curriculum. The curriculum helps participating children grow developmentally, increasing motor, cognitive, and social emotional development. Participants are also connected to health care providers and are checked to ensure that they are on track with immunizations.
