Programs

The Equity Leadership Program is designed to help graduates of area leadership programs and leaders from different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences to be more effective in their practice of leadership by gaining needed awareness on issues of race and equity. This program was created in partnership between the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Global Lead Inc., the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, the YWCA, and BRIDGES. BRIDGES has turned this module towards educators, honing in on how assumptions, judgments, and individual world views may impact the way an individual teaches.

The Public Allies Program provides full-time, paid, 10 month apprenticeships in nonprofits with intensive skills training, active community-building projects, personalized coaching, and critical reflection. According to the charity, the Allies Program has recruited 3,371 volunteers and 90% of participants have graduated from the program.

The JUST Community Program is designed for high school students to have an immersion experience designed to explore the issues that divide people (race, class, gender/sexual orientation, religion, and violence) and gain the skills to be leaders in creating more inclusive and just communities through positive institutional change in their spheres of influence.

The ONE Community Program is similar to the JUST Community Program, but is a four day residential retreat for students, educators, and administrators from the same school to explore the issues that divide people. Village Schools, an after-school program, provides students, educators and parents the awareness and skills to feel capable, connected, and contributing in making an inclusive and welcoming school environment.

The Police/Youth "Live-In" Program provides children ages 10 to 12 and police officers an opportunity to foster understanding and build friendships and respect between the two groups. There are small group discussions and special police unit demonstrations. All activities provide opportunities for the officers and campers to engage in open and honest conversation, building trust and rapport along the way.

The BRIDGES Interfaith Trialogue Program is a focused conversation among local individuals of the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faiths to foster awareness, understanding, and commonality.
