Affiliates

              

The Beacon for Youth Foundation was formed in 2003 to perform fundraising functions on behalf of LYS and its affiliates.  New Life Properties, Inc. holds and operates various facilities for LYS' activites.  Financial information for both of these affiliates is included in this report.

The Lighthouse Community School, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization which provides education for LYS clients and other youth from the community.  Due to Ohio Department of Education requirements for schools, it is audited separately, and its financial information is not included in this report.

Programs

              

Lighthouse Youth Services provides residential care to youth and families each day in residential programs including emergency shelter for youth in crisis, residential treatment for youth with serious delinquency and behavioral issues, foster care for children who have been abused and neglected, a juvenile corrections treatment facility for serious delinquent youth, and transitional living and independent living services for older homeless youth and youth transitioning out of the child welfare system. In addition to residential programs, the charity provides educational services, including in-school services, two charter schools for students in the child welfare system, and educational advocacy for youth in high risk situations. Lighthouse Youth Services also provides a growing array of in-home services, including services for families with children pre-natal to 3 years old, families of children with mental illness, families of children and youth returning from juvenile correctional facilities, in-home community mental health services for families and youth with mental health issues; and a fatherhood program for non-custodial fathers.
