Programs

              

The Family Nurturing Center was formed to provide families in abuse situations the opportunity to eliminate abuse or the potential for abuse through volunteer-based, self-help programs, and community-based support. According to the charity, the lack of parenting skills is often cited as one of the primary factors in child abuse and neglect. Subsequently, the Family Nurturing Center developed the Nurturing Parenting Program to help families reduce the risk of child abuse and develop healthier, stronger relationships. With Facilitated Visitation Services, the Family Nurturing Center provides enhanced visitation services and parent coaching to clients of Hamilton County Job and Family Services in order to help children achieve permanency. Kids on the Block is a child abuse education and awareness program that brings life-size puppets in local elementary schools, churches, and other community-meeting places. This interactive program gives children the tools they need to recognize, resist, and report child abuse. The Abuse Treatment Services involves in individual, family, and group therapy for children and their families impacted by child sexual abuse physical abuse, domestic violence, and other violent crimes. The Protect and Comfort Infants (PACI) is an educational program designed to prevent the Shaken Baby Syndrome by delivering information to parents on ways to soothe and comfort infants and the dangers of shaking a baby. The Family Nurturing Center also provides Community Education through speaking engagements and training for parents, teachers, community groups, and other professionals.
