Programs

               

The Council on Child Abuse (COCA) offers different programs and services to help prevent child abuse throughout the local community. COCA’s Protect and Comfort Infants Prevention Initiative educates target audiences in the community about the dangers of shaking babies and offers practical suggestions for caring for infants in ways that are protective and nurturing. Through School-Based Personal Safety Programs the organization provides a variety of child abuse and peer abuse prevention workshops for school personnel, parents, and students in kindergarten through 12th grade in the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton areas. The Parent Helpline allows parents to call the organization for support, parenting tips, or just to talk to someone. Through Community Education Programs COCA conducts a variety of activities to promote public awareness of child abuse and its prevention. Staff members are available to provide trainings, consultations, and presentations to schools, community groups, and professionals.
