Programs

United Way of Lake County identifies the health and human service issues in our region; discuss our findings with community leaders and experts and work with them to prioritize needs; and fund the programs that best address those needs. Supporting United Way is the most effective way to invest in your community and create positive, measurable change. Each contribution helps more than one person, one charity or one issue. Partnering with United Way answers a broad range of needs from food and shelter to healthcare services to affordable day care to substance abuse counseling to senior care to job training and more. We know that when children start school ready to learn, they have a much better chance of succeeding as they go through school - and in life. United Way of Lake County has made it a priority to help give all children who enter kindergarten the skills and tools they need to be successful in school. Success By 6 is an early childhood learning initiative that brings together leadership and resources to make sure that all children have the best opportunity to succeed in school and beyond. This partnership unites businesses, school districts, non-profit organizations, communities of faith and individuals. Success By 6 provides parents with the information and resources they need to be a child’s first teacher, and makes sure that early learning opportunities are available to all children in Lake County. From quick fixes to real lasting change. That’s what matters. That’s United Way.
