Programs

The IMD Guest House Foundation started in response to a critical need for affordable accommodations where family members can stay while their loved one receives medical treatment in the Illinois Medical District area. Seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Guest House serves people in need. The Guest House’s mission has expanded over time to include not only family members, but also the patients themselves, when they travel to Chicago for outpatient treatment. Each person who stays at the Guest House’s facilities is provided with comfortable, affordable accommodations for as long as they need it. The Guest House is the only such facility in Chicago that serves both children and adult patients, and families of children and adult patients, providing comfort and a safe haven at a time when energy must be directed to larger issues. Each of the hospitals in the Illinois Medical District is within walking distance of the Guest House’s accommodations.
