Programs

The primary goal of Educational Assistance Ltd. (“EAL”) (a nonprofit organization incorporated under the Illinois General Not-for Profit Corporation Act) is to create scholarships for financially disadvantaged students at post-secondary institutions through donations of inventory and other gifts. The underlying concept of EAL’s program entails the solicitation of support, primarily from business organizations throughout the continental United States, in the form of property and services. In turn, EAL recruits colleges nationally, which will issue scholarship tuition credits in exchange for donated property or services received through EAL for a handling charge. Needy students at participating colleges are awarded scholarship benefits from EAL as a result of this program. Donations which are not exchanged for scholarship tuition credits by EAL are converted to cash which is used to support operations and to fund the Trustee Direct Cash Scholarship program. This discretionary program is approved on an annual basis by the Board of Directors of EAL. Funds are disbursed to qualified colleges and universities within the EAL program for the benefit of needy students on their campuses.

For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2010, Educational Assistance Ltd.'s program expenses were:
