Programs

Intergenerational Housing Program consists of three buildings in Chicago (The Pat Crowley House, The Nathalie Salmon House, and Blackhawk Manor) that enable almost 75 low-income elderly to live together with families and student assistants. Upkeep and Repair Services Program provides elderly homeowners living in low-income neighborhoods south of North Avenue in Chicago with the free services of a handyman to conduct minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry jobs that are focused on comfort and safety issues. Shopping Transportation Services Program provides a handicapped accessible shopping bus that regularly serves senior buildings citywide. Volunteer Services - Volunteers participate in a variety of projects to serve residents of H.O.M.E.’s three intergenerational houses and other low income seniors throughout Chicago. BenefitsCheckUp Program – H.O.M.E. is one of 50 partner agencies selected to perform outreach services to seniors from “diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious communities.” This is a service of the National Council on Aging and in partnership with the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services and the Chicago Community Trust. H.O.M.E.’s participation will allow at least 250 seniors annually to receive help in identifying and enrolling in federal, state, local, and private programs that help in paying for prescription drugs, utility bills, meals, health care, and other needs.
