Programs

              

DURING THE 2012-13 ACADEMIC YEAR, OPEN BOOKS SERVED 4,924 UNIQUE STUDENTS OVER THE COURSE OF 19,091 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING. THEY CONTINUED THEIR WORK WITH 173 GRADE SCHOOL STUDENTS AT 8 SCHOOLS EVERY WEEK THROUGH OPEN BOOKS BUDDIES, HELPED OVER 4,500 4TH-12TH GRADERS FROM 54 SCHOOLS BECOME CONFIDENT, ARTICULATE WRITERS AT THEIR ADVENTURES IN CREATIVE WRITING FIELD TRIPS, CONTINUED THEIR CLOSE MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS WITH 57 HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS THROUGH VWRITE, AND CREATED 106 PUBLISHED YOUNG AUTHORS THROUGH THE READTHENWRITE PROGRAM. AS ALWAYS, OPEN BOOKS FOCUSES THEIR PASSION ON SPREADING THE LOVE OF READING AND WRITING, AND THEIR STUDENTS, THEIR TEACHERS, AND VOLUNTEERS JOINED IN THEIR ENTHUSIASM.
