Standard 6: Board Policy on Effectiveness - Have a board policy of assessing, no less than every two years, the organization's performance and effectiveness and of determining future actions required to achieve its mission.

DeKalb County Youth Service Bureau, Inc. does not meet this Standard because:

  • The board of directors does not have a written policy stating that, at least every two years, an appraisal be done assessing the organization’s performance and effectiveness and determining future actions required to achieve its mission.

Standard 17: Web Site Disclosures - Include on any charity websites that solicit contributions, the same information that is recommended for annual reports, as well as the mailing address of the charity and electronic access to its most recent IRS Form 990.

• Youth & Family Counseling -personalized individual/family counseling for youth ages 8-18 and their families. • Girls Empowerment Group - assessment and groups focusing on issues that are important in the lives of adolescent girls. • DeKalb County Youth Project - assessment and groups designed to help youth who display difficulty dealing with problems that arise from peer pressure and stress, including anger and emotion management. • Alcohol / Drug Early Intervention Program - assessment and groups to educate teens about alcohol and drug-related issues. • Alternative to Suspension Program - offers services to youth suspended out of school in lieu of spending time, unsupervised, in the home. • Tobacco Intervention Program - assessment, education, and guidance to youth who are using tobacco products. • Crisis Intervention Program - immediate assistance for families with youth that refuse to go home, have run away, or have been locked out of the home. • Unified Delinquency Intervention Services - for court-related youth at risk of commitment to the Illinois Department of Corrections. • Juvenile Diversion - second chance for youth who are first time offenders in the Juvenile Court System. • Active Parenting of Teens - skill-building workshop offering strategies for effective communication with teens. • TeenREACH - after-school program offered by the Sycamore School District for academic and life skill enrichment.
