Columbus, Ohio – February 28, 2014 – Better Business Bureau® (BBB) is joining Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and other federal, state and local government agencies and national organizations to celebrate the 16th Annual National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 2-8, 2014.
For the past 16 years, a broad coalition has worked together to share tips and information about privacy protection, money and debt management, and recognizing identity theft, frauds, and scams.
Thousands of people turn to BBB as the preeminent resource on businesses, and our goal is to go the extra mile by encouraging everyone to take full advantage of consumer protection. Each day during NCPW, BBB will issue a daily consumer protection tip on a variety of important marketplace topics.
Consumer advocate groups will host financial fairs, community forums and educational workshops throughout the state to provide education and expert tips on managing money and debt, preventing identity theft, and avoiding fraud and scams and more.
In addition, BBB professionals will be participating in several consumer events and speaking engagements across Ohio, educating consumers on identity theft and common scams. A full list of all Ohio events taking place during NCPW can be found at http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/ncpw .
