I signed a lease with Pella Company in October. Come to find out months later the girl ***** I was supposed to live with added her sister to it without written consent. Pella went ahead and added her altering the Final Terms Sheet without my knowledge. I consulted with a lawyer, and it was brought to my attention that it is completely illegal. They signed my name on a lease without my permission. Weeks ago, I emailed them stating my intent to release my unit and brought that up. Consistently they have made things difficult for me. They have not marketed the open spot on their website, nor have they been helpful with negotiating with *****. Instead, they have dragged her into issues she had no involvement in. They went ahead and VOIDED her sister's lease which I was all for considering *****'s sister was likely going to take over the lease, however, that is not going to happen. I am completely stuck in a lease with a company that does not care and is not helpful. I found many viable candidates for the release, yet they have allowed ***** to discriminate based on appearance. Finally, I received an email stating that ***** now has to approve the candidate for my release before they will even take them on a tour. My friend works in leasing and believes that is also illegal given Fair Housing States every prospective lead requesting a tour must be approved if there is a spot open.
