I took a private speed-reading class from ****** during the pandemic - a few months ago. I wasn't confident during the class that I was learning anything, but by the end I realized that I had learned a lot to help me read faster. (1) I liked and learned the idea of reading the headings or bold faced print first, along with the book covers and any foreword or intro. (2) I learned about taking notes in a systematic way - the note tree - to keep track of the info in the book or article and to learn it, if that is something I need to do. (3) I learned to read above the line and pick up key words, especially for info that I don't need to memorize - just learn or know. (4) I learned how to scan the page and trust my subconscious mind - or work on trusting it - to pick up the key words and concepts. (5) I learned that I don't need to read and pronounce every word in my head. (6) I learned that this class is not a magic wand, and you will not instantly be able to read a book in 15 minutes, but you will learn the skills for how to get there. And finally I learned, which I already knew, that I don't have to use these skills if I don't want to, but the more I practice them, the better I will get at them. I appreciate ******** time and would recommend her class if you want to learn the skills of how to speed read. ******* *.

Thanks *******! I have known ******* for a long time and was honored when she decided to take the class. She is an amazing professional photographer so I used the analogy of seeing the information as a picture with her. Part of what makes her so good is wanting the details perfect--this made the first part of the course difficult. But it worked!
