On Nov. 8, 2023, the Ohio Attorney General's Office filed a civil lawsuit in Franklin County Common Pleas Court case number 23 CV 008028 against defendants Anthony Ryan individually and Ryan Roofing & Home Improvements, Ltd., alleging violations of the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act and the Home Solicitation Sales Act.
The state alleges the defendants sold roofing services and new roofs to consumers, accepted deposits from customers or their insurance companies, failed to deliver the promised work, didn’t issue refunds, and didn't provide clients with a legally mandated notice of consumers' right to cancel their contracts.
The state seeks to compel Ryan and his company to reimburse the affected consumers, pay civil penalties, and cover court costs.
The matter is pending.
